Run the smallest real test
Speed is useful only when reality stays in the loop
Useful change
A useful change reaches a real user, buyer, operational constraint, or decision threshold. A private prototype or optimistic conversation is not automatically useful.
Innovation cost
A working measurement from our innovation-cost work is: participant hours + guide hours + specialist hours + direct spend + avoidable rework, divided by useful changes.
Bound the mission
A mission has an owner, question, resource boundary, external test, and review. The guide reduces test size; the operator owns the decision.
Reuse the learning
The next test should be cheaper because the previous one produced reusable language, a narrower audience, or a killed assumption.
Do the work
Design a seven-day mission: question, smallest external test, owner, resource cap, success evidence, failure evidence, and day-seven decision.
