The First Mechanism Test: Two Locks and a Public Trust Stake

The first result is modest but real: the mechanism was memetic enough to spread once. Two people now control matching SPX6900 locks. The next test is whether a repeatable receipt can attract research funding without turning belief into pooled custody.

The first result: it spread once

I locked 57.47 SPX6900 through Streamflow as a birthday gift to my future self. The lock was public, self-custodied, time-based, and easy to inspect. Garcia replied Matched and created a second lock for the same amount and the same token. That is the first result: the mechanism was memetic enough to spread once. It is a good sign. It is not evidence that the funding mechanism works yet.

What n=2 proves—and what it does not

N=2 proves that one public commitment can be copied by another person without requiring the project to take custody of either position. It does not prove network effects, product-market fit, fiat conversion, investment value, or security for the proposed MARVIN / Vouch Vault mechanism. Two locks are a replication receipt, not a treasury.

How to replicate the trust stake

Choose the official Streamflow token-lock flow on Solana mainnet. Confirm the token mint before doing anything else: J3NKxxXZcnNiMjKw9hYb2K4LUxgwB6t1FtPtQVsv3KFr. Connect a wallet you control. Set yourself as the recipient. Choose a fixed time-based lock. Enter the amount you are actually willing to make inaccessible until the unlock date. Review the token, mint, amount, recipient, unlock timestamp, and fees. Reject the transaction if the wallet simulation warns that it will revert. Sign only after the review matches your intent.

Publish the receipt

After the transaction finalizes, publish the Streamflow contract URL and the Solana transaction signature. State the amount, mint, network, recipient relationship, and unlock date. Do not send tokens to a pre-existing lock address. Do not describe a personal lock as a donation to BIPU. The contribution is a visible trust stake behind the research effort; custody remains with the locker until the specified unlock.

What the trust fund means right now

The proposed trust fund is currently a social and accounting layer over individually controlled locks. It is not pooled custody, a legal investment vehicle, a managed treasury, or a promise that locked SPX will be converted into fiat. The intended use is to make commitment legible enough that people may choose to fund research with fiat, collaborate, or add their own lock. That conversion remains an open experiment.

The next measurable gate

The next gate is not more applause. It is a third independent lock, followed by a fiat contribution explicitly attributed to the research effort. We will keep the receipt classes separate: locked SPX, fiat received, work shipped, and participants who repeat the mechanism. If the locks spread but no useful work or fiat follows, the mechanism is memetically successful and economically unproven.

The first funding denominator

The current unit is 57.47 SPX. At the reference price used in the accompanying analysis, that is approximately $25.60. A deliberately naive 1:1 planning model would require 3,907 matching units to represent $100,000 of fiat capacity. That is not a forecast. It is a warning label. The actual variable to learn is the conversion ratio: fiat raised divided by the dollar value of locked SPX. Until that ratio has receipts, it is a hypothesis.

Falsifiers

This test should be marked a miss if people will not repeat the lock without pressure or subsidy; if the second contract cannot be read back independently; if locked SPX attracts attention but no research work, fiat, or repeat participation; if the project starts treating personal locks as its treasury; or if the lock count rises while the evidence of useful work stays flat.
